Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal FC told Rice fee, Diaby latest; Chelsea want Caicedo and Dumfries; Trossard to Spurs

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham continue to search for January transfer window deals as the clock starts to tick down on a vibrant month in the market. A new attacker remains on Mikel Arteta’s agenda after losing out on Mykhailo Mudryk, with Leandro Trossard, Moussa Diaby and Dusan Vlahovic all linked with a move to north London. Declan Rice is a key target for the summer but West Ham want well over £100m.

Over at Chelsea, a new right-back and central midfielder are the priorities for the big spenders and they appear to have identified Denzel Dumfries and Moises Caicedo as their top targets – despite already completing five deals in a matter of weeks. Finding buyers for their unwanted stars is proving a problem though.

Spurs are yet to bag a January signing but their on-pitch struggles will likely force them into action. So far, Pedro Porro has been the main objective and talks with Sporting CP continue while they look to rival Arsenal for Trossard, who is valued at £25m. Interest across Europe for Garnacho

Juventus and Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Alejandro Garnacho’s contract situation.

The Manchester United teenager has 18 months remaining on his current deal, with no agreement yet reached over an extension.

The Independent report that Garnacho, currently on £7,000-a-week, has told the club through his agents that an offer of £20,000-a-week is not enough. Clubs across Europe will consider a move should no deal be agreed soon.

Moyes has big West Ham plans

David Moyes has vowed to “build a new West Ham” if he is given time by the club’s owners.

The Scot is under increasing pressure after a poor start to the season even despite a summer spend of around £170m.

Speaking on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Moyes said: “I want to build a new West Ham, what does that mean? A lot of supporters might not like the sound of that.

“West Ham have moved to a new stadium, it’s not been appreciated by everybody, so we need to make the most we possibly can of it.

“It used to always do, when I was a manager… we’d say you get a flaky West Ham, they’re not that reliable, and you don’t know what West Ham team’s going to turn up.”

Klopp: We have to change

Jurgen Klopp has insisted he will not be leaving as the Liverpool boss hints at a significant overhaul of his squad.

While the German has stressed there will not be any short-term fixes in the transfer market this month, the Liverpool manager has hinted at a major change to the playing staff at Anfield.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham is believed to be a major target, although the club will likely face intense competition from Real Madrid on that front.

“At Dortmund, it was clear when I left, I said ‘something has to change here’. It is a different situation,” Klopp said.

“Either the manager’s position changes or a lot of other things change. So, as far as I am concerned unless someone tells me I will not go.

“So that means maybe there is a point where we have to change other stuff.”

Bergstrom recalled by Chelsea

Chelsea have recalled goalkeeper Lucas Bergstrom from Peterborough.

The 20-year-old was first-choice under former manager Grant McCann, but the arrival of Darren Ferguson has changed that and Bergstrom will now return to west London.

Ferguson said: “The return of both Harvey Cartwright and Lucas Bergström is no slight on them whatsoever, I just felt I needed a bit more experience going into the second half of the season, which is why I brought Will Norris into the club.

“I think Chelsea have been happy with Lucas in terms of the amount of first team experience he has got under his belt during his time at the club and there is no doubt he, and Harvey, are talented goalkeepers.”

Chelsea left with bloated squad

Chelsea face a struggle to offload some of their unwanted players as they plan a clear-out of their squad in the summer following their £420million transfer spending spree, writes Nizaar Kinsella.

The Blues need to reduce the size of their squad and Kai Havertz, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic all face uncertain futures. But finding buyers for the highly-paid stars is likely to be an issue as Chelsea continue to overhaul the squad.

Conor Gallagher is one player who is attracting loan interest from Crystal Palace and Newcastle, but the midfielder would prefer to stay unless he is forced out.

Jorginho is likely to be allowed to leave when his contract expires in the summer and could join Napoli or Barcelona.

Man United pushing for Rashford deal

Manchester United are believed to be confident they can persuade Marcus Rashford to sign a new deal.

PSG remain interested in the forward, who has been in sensational form for Man United this season and has 18 months left on his contract.

The MEN report that the club remain in talks over a £300,000-a-week deal, but will not go beyond that as they refuse to break their wage structure.

Raya: Every player has goals

Tottenham target David Raya has revealed he will make a decision on his future in the summer.

The Brentford goalkeeper is a target for Spurs as they consider replacements for Hugo Lloris, with Raya entering the final year of his contract at the end of the season.

“Every player has goals and wants to improve,” he told AS. “Now I am focused on my team and in the summer we will see what happens.

“If they (Brentford) want to do business they will have to do it, but there is a long season left and I am only focused on doing it well.

“In the summer we will assess my situation.”

Rice backs Arsenal for title

Declan Rice has already tipped Arsenal for the Premier League title as the club line up a huge summer move for the midfielder.

The Gunners have long-admired the 24-year-old and Standard Sports understand they have now moved ahead of both Manchester clubs in the race to sign him.

Speaking after West Ham’s loss at the Emirates Stadium in December, the England star said: “They are a top team you can see they are coached incredibly well, have a lot of attacking talent, a young squad and they can go all the way for sure.

“We tried as hard as we could to stop them, we came up short. You can’t sustain that for 90 minutes against a team like Arsenal, it’s the same against City. With their free-flowing football they managed to get through.”
