European Soccer Top Picks

Total: Manchester United vs. Everton Over 3.5 (+194) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

United are in great form, winning all their four official games after the World Cup break. Despite drawing 1-1 at the Etihad against Premier League champions Manchester City on New Year’s Eve, Everton find themselves in the relegation battle, and their 4-1 home defeat to Brighton reminded them of their status. Everton’s focus is to avoid the drop, so the Cup is just a background objective.

Both managers are expected to field some of the players they aren’t using regularly in the league matches, but United is surely 100% involved in their Cup campaign. A trophy in Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge is surely something that would change moods at Old Trafford, with the Cup being way more accessible than the Premier League right now. A spectacular Cup classic could be in store on Friday, so our suggestion is to go for goals in this one.

Spreads: PSG -2 vs. Chateauroux (+100) ⭐⭐⭐

Messi returned to Paris after a two-week break following his World Cup triumph, but he’s not expected to play against Chateauroux in the French Cup. Still, PSG should be capable of comfortably winning this tie even if they fielded their third-best lineup. Chateauroux is now in a race to survive relegation from the French third tier. PSG manager Christophe Galtier will surely operate changes in the structure of the starting 11, but even under these circumstances, PSG should look at beating Chateauroux by more than three goals.

Upset: Millwall vs. Sheffield United (+180) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Both teams are in the fight for a Premier League spot next season, both are in good form, and both are chasing a long FA Cup run. On paper, it looks like it’s going to be a tight outing, with little to separate the two combatants. Millwall haven’t lost a home match since September, one of their only two defeats at The Den since the start of the campaign. Sheffield aren’t doing badly in away matches either, with their last defeat coming in October, to Coventry.

Still, this is a Cup fixture we’re talking about and soccer fans know the unpredictable touch it brings into a match. Millwall should be able to benefit from the home support and advance to the FA Cup fourth round.

Parlay: 1 goal scored in both halves and Gillingham to record 3-plus shots on target (+217) ⭐⭐⭐

Leicester are not doing well in the Premier League and relegation is a real possibility this season. They need to win over fourth-tier side Gillingham, not only to advance into the fourth round of the Cup, but also to restore some of the self-belief and morale that’s been lost following the several dismal results in the league. Gillingham will not hold back and they will force their small chances to the limits. A spectacular match is expected, with both sides being part of the show.
