Edinburgh Airport shares car park guide and how to get to each of them

Edinburgh Airport has issued new advice on how to get to each of its car parks ahead of a busy summer season.

With people across Scotland preparing to jet off and soak up some sun over the next few months, the most important aspect of any trip is making sure you get to the airport on time.

Many Scots won’t have been on holiday since before the pandemic, and so may not remember their way around Edinburgh Airport.

To help avoid confusion, the airport has mapped out each of its car parks in a new guide.

Here’s a rundown of each car park facility at Edinburgh Airport, and how to get there, featuring maps from its website.

FastPark

The FastPark facility reopened earlier this month, after being used as an ExpressTest Covid-19 testing site during the early part of the pandemic.

The self-service valet car park is intended to offer a convenient option for travelers who just want to get into the airport and start their holiday without worrying about where to park.

Edinburgh Airport states: “Basically if you’re coming in from the direction of Glasgow Road on Eastfield Road you simply go straight on at the roundabout next to the Moxy and DoubleTree by Hilton hotels, before turning left at the roundabout next to Hampton by Hilton on to Jubilee Road.

“Follow the road round past the Edinburgh Airport tower and from signs will direct you to FastPark. It’s as easy as that.”

Multi-storey car park

The multi-storey car park is the closest you can get to the airport, and so is perfect for those who would rather not spend a long time getting from their car to the terminal.

It even features a bridge on its second floor that runs directly to the security halls that can be accessed by passengers who have booked the fastTRACK service.

On its website, the airport states: “Think back to our FastPark directions. You do exactly the same, however rather than turning left at the Hampton by Hilton roundabout you go straight ahead and follow the road past terminal parking and into the multi-storey .

“You’ll not miss it because, well, it’s a multi-storey.”

Terminal car park

The terminal car park is another good choice for those who prioritize convenience, as it is just a short walk away from the check-in desks.

Edinburgh Airport said: “As we’ve already touched upon, it’s basically right in front of the multi-storey if you’re looking at it from the road in. Just after the roundabout at the Hampton by Hilton is where you’ll find this car park. ”

Mid-stay car park

For travelers who don’t mind parking a little bit further away to save some money, the mid-stay car park could be your best bet.

However, since parking here will require walking a bit to the terminal, it is not recommended for some passengers with mobility issues.

As stated by Edinburgh Airport: “If you’re coming down Eastfield Road you turn right at the roundabout next to the Moxy and DoubleTree by Hilton and on to Eastfield Avenue. Follow the road and take a left at the next roundabout at Gogar Bridge Road and that’ll lead you in to mid-stay. ”

Long-stay car park

The furthest car park from the terminal, as its name suggests the long-stay car park is recommended for those who will be away for four days or more.

It will take you approximately eight to ten minutes to walk to check-in from here.

The airport said: “Located on the other side of the mid-stay car park. The directions are roughly the same, the only difference is you go right at the roundabout across the tram tracks at the end of Eastfield Avenue rather than left.”
